I personally feel that is a different issue. Pidgin did not partner with Microsoft, to the best of my knowledge, but Mozilla did partner with TokBox (owned by Telefónica) and thus Firefox Hello can be seen as promoting nonfree software. I feel that Firefox Hello was the slippery slope. Since they can't get away with shipping proprietary code, they thought they could instead write free code that relies on nonfree services. Whatever, it's a shady move and Firefox Hello should have been an add-on anyway. If you want a free replacement, try Jitsi Meet [1] (if you know any similar free/libre WebRTC videochat programs that also work on mobiles, I'd like to know about them) [1]: https://meet.jit.si/ _______________________________________________ Dev mailing list [email protected] https://lists.parabola.nu/mailman/listinfo/dev
