Hi, Reading your description of flatpacks, I can't resist thinking about GNU Guix [0].
This standalone package manager (and even standalone system distribution if you wish) provides quite the same features: non-conflicting environment, per-user package management, multiple versions or dependencies tree on the same system, reproducible builds, etc. And it follows the FSDG, providing only 100% free software. It provides _all_ GNU packages (which most distros don't provide, btw) and a lots of other packages[1], such as GNOME desktop environment. With little skills in coding Scheme, it is also very easy to write your own package recipes [2], and share it with community (as long as it is remains in FSDG). Guix is installable on any distro as a standalone package manager, and I don't think it will ever be blacklisted by Parabola, because it *really* provides and recommends only free software, and uses a completely separated workflow to manage packages, system-wide and per-user. So, why don't you give it a try ?
