just because someone forks a project, even the lead developer, that does not itself suggest that distros should follow the fork
this is the email you posted on IRC, as a rationale https://mailman.nginx.org/pipermail/nginx/2024-February/GPXQY27UA5SJJZ2Y6JWTRWJB2TKPTJR7.html > I no longer able > to control which changes are made in nginx within F5, and no longer > see nginx as a free and open source project developed and > maintained for the public good. nothing in that email suggests that nginx is or will become non-free - it only suggests that it may no longer be "maintained for the public good" - whatever that means, is not obvious - i would wait to see what arch does - if arch decides to follow the new fork, then you are doing work for nothing now - if they dont, still it is not obvious why we would need to blacklist the arch package and adopt a new one _______________________________________________ Dev mailing list Dev@lists.parabola.nu https://lists.parabola.nu/mailman/listinfo/dev
