Issue #338 has been updated by mtjm.

there is no reason to use the .pacnew file, it's added so pacman doesn't remove
the real and working configuration.

Should this file be removed from future updates?

Bug #338: grub.cfg.pacnew comes with grub-common update

Last night, I got a pacnew file for /boot/grub/grub.cfg, which is usually
generated by hand using grub-mkconfig. I ran grub-mkconfig to see if there
were any differences with my current configuration, but it was the same. Was
this file supposed to be updated? Is it safe to delete the pacnew file, since
my system boots well with the configuration I already have?

Thanks!
