since it's been opened 2 month ago - can you test again against rc0.1 ? For sure I'll look into the quoting issues etc. which are outlined on the ticket - in regard to using what is advertised on login. That is a great idea of course, but I am not sure if sorting is actually part of the standard, I tried to find appropriate RFCs but were not too successful. If it is not part of it I personally wouldn't want to support something like that. On a sidenote - I've heard many complaints about Dovecot and large mailboxes. Which is why I personally use Courier.
