des.inc is not included in the pure GPL package. It uses mcrypt as
suggested in the ticket you mentioned. Please, check it!

I have just read announcement about new version of RoundCube. However,
as stated in bug #1484291, RoundCube is still not compatible with GPL
since it includes and uses des.inc which does not show any distribution
statement. This file is non free. The bug report includes a patch to
solve this issue. Please, use it !
