A lot of people actually prefer reading a name (and being called so) "last
name first name" [1].

It may also happen that an address book contains both entries of people who
prefer to be called "first name last name" *and* people who are used to being
called "last name first name" - so there is a reason for having a display name
field.

Cheers,
Patrick.
