That's not a mail client issue then. ;) Other MUAs (hint, hint Apple
Mail) just display all folders regardless of subcription status. You
will need to iterate through your accounts and initially subscribe
them if you want to change that.

Well, try harder then. ;) I don't know of any issue currently.

I think the solution is to subscribe the folders yourself or teach
your users IMAP-fu - e.g. why they should subscribe to a folder, or
not. This is not really an issue the MUA should solve.
