I think it's not ready. The CSS is a mess. We need to work on its 
further cleanup, simplification and unification. We should even design a 
new skin (with help of usability expert and graphic designer). We need 
definitely a stable CSS/HTML code, so skin developers could finally 
create their cool skins. Now, it's really hard. We need to make code 
complete and clean as possible. Then we could release 1.0. After that 
we'll need to work on two branches. 1.x for bugfixing, small 
improvements and no API changes. 2.x for new features including API 
changes. I don't know if we'll have time for this.

There are also some features that I'd like to have before 1.0. Also the 
plugin API is changing too often now. I don't think it will be possible 
before 0.5 release.
