Actually, for hardware mouse pointer it would be most optimal to create in-kernel routing interface where mouse events are routed directly from the HID driver to the GPU driver's hardware mouse pointer interface.
This would reduce latency and mouse-jumpiness that commonly plagues systems in high load situations.
