Hello Everyone.

More than few times we had in our office conversations that ended up
with something like: "I'll send you a link to Tizen Dev's archive",
"look it up in your mailbox". Some of us do not follow the list very
closely and for them I've decided to prepare a digest like this. I will
create it once a month and try to sum up most popular or interesting
topics.

New Bluetooth Framework
=======================
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2524

Definitely this was the largest thread of May started with a tiny
announcement referring to a wiki page describing a proposal of a new
design Bluetooth stack in Tizen.

Several other threads sprouted from this one.

Enforcing privileges of webapps
===============================
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2524/focus=2564

Since webapps are going to be first class citizens of Tizen ecosystem,
they need to be controlled properly so they don't break the
system. Patrick Ohly writes, it will require crosswalk web runtime to
implement security checks and become a trusted part of the system.

Cynara
======
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2267

http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2524/focus=2699

http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2726

http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2568

It was almost two months ago when Łukasz Wojciechowski announced the new
security service for Tizen named Cynara. Its purpose is to provide
framework to implement fine-grained security checks in services since
not all resources are represented by kernel objects and therefore cannot
be guarded by Smack rules.

In May Cynara matters has been discussed further.

Cross walk
==========
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2865

It was also April when the Crosswalk HTML5 runtime had been introduced
to Tizen and like Cynara it has been discussed thoroughly ever since,
especially that packages for ARM architecture became available.

QT
==
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2657

Finally Qt is available as part of official Tizen images. This will
enable large number of developers who know well it to become Tizen
developers.

Tizen:Common images
===================
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.tizen.devel/2590

Two weeks ago Roman Kubiak has started the discussion about the
usefulness of Tizen:Common images for platform developers. It appears
some problems have been spotted and some even solved thanks to this
discussion.

Mesa update
===========
https://lists.tizen.org/pipermail/dev/2014-May/002703.html

Update of Mesa to 10.1.2 was announced. (Apparently gmane lost some
messages from this thread.)

I hope such digests will help some of you to keep track at least of the
most important issues discussed on the Tizen's Dev mailing list.

Kind regards,
