Hi, All Since there is no feedback about the Tizen WiFi P2P CAPI proposal for more than 1 week, I would like to sync it with you again. :)
Steve & Taesub: Could you please review the CAPI proposal and check whether it can meet your WiFi P2P feature requirement? You know that ConnMan based WiFi P2P is under development in upstream and it's an opportunity for you to provide your feature requirement to ConnMan upstream experts, then they will evaluate it and confirm whether they will or they should support it. So that when we enable ConnMan based WiFi P2P feature on Tizen, there will be little gaps and low risks for you. Patrik & Tomasz: Could you please review the CAPI proposal too and mainly on those upstream doesn't support yet, then give us your evaluation whether they will be supported in future? If we have some misunderstanding about your solution details, please correct us in time, thanks in advance! Please join and discuss it freely so that we can reach an agreement about it finally, thanks for your cooperation! ConnMan based WiFi P2P is a totally different solution compared with the current one on Tizen, for it will NOT expose much of the low level technical details to upper layer, but implement them internally in ConnMan, so that upper layer can use it much more easily than before, for example, group related stuff will not be exposed to upper layer any more, for ConnMan will implement it internally and make it transparent to upper layer. As a result, current WiFi P2P CAPI can't match with the new ConnMan based WiFi P2P solution any more, so we suggest to redesign the CAPI layer for ConnMan based WiFi P2P. Here we give out a CAPI proposal version based on the latest ConnMan WiFi P2P solution, also we add some CAPI definition proposal that we think ConnMan should support but it doesn't yet by now. Attachment introduction: 1). Latest-ConnMan-WiFi-P2P-Design-Doc.zip: The latest ConnMan based WiFi P2P design documents, you can refer it to see the solution design and what interfaces it plans to support by now. 2). Wifi-direct.h: Our new CAPI proposal header file for ConnMan based WiFi P2P solution, it is just a draft version, Samsung side can review it to see whether it can meet the requirements of your WiFi P2P feature. 3). Tizen WiFi P2P Introduction.ppt: Introduction of Tizen WiFi P2P, it also includes current Tizen WiFi P2P CAPI and ConnMan based WiFi P2P CAPI proposal, for the CAPI proposal part, we define 32 interfaces, but only 11 of them can be supported by current ConnMan, and we need ConnMan upstream's confirmation whether the other 21 interfaces can be supported in near future. Patrik&Tomasz, please help to confirm it, thanks in advance! For ConnMan based WiFi P2P solution is still under development, we just distribute the draft CAPI proposal and hope all the related stakeholders(including Samsung and ConnMan upstream guys) can join and discuss it freely so that we can achieve an agreement on the CAPI redesign finally. Any concerns and suggestions, please feel free to bring them out, thanks! Regards, Zhang Zhengguang
