So, if we wanted to reimplement the current POC using the same/similar
architecture, the options I see would be:
a) Implement a WebView on xwalk to be used on Tizen (so xwalk would
provide a WebView on both Android and Tizen): this seems a really big
amount of work, and mean that xwalk would somehow replicate CEF on Tizen.
What is CEF?
Tizen 3.x no longer has any WebView, at least as far as I know.
As I mentioned on my original email IVI profile for Tizen 3.x only
includes crosswalk as web engine. Mobile profile for 3.x still includes
webkit-efl. Probably for legacy reasons, as webkit-efl as a project
didn't have too much activity lately.
This is
also a problem for the OAuth2 dialog, which currently relies on a hacky,
non-multiuser approach of retrieving the result (see
https://bugs.tizen.org/jira/browse/TC-26?focusedCommentId=41182&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-41182).
So implementing a WebView on xwalk would make sense also for other
reasons.
Well, the issue is know not only if it makes sense, but if xwalk team
plans to include a WebView for Tizen as a feature on the
short/medium-term future. As I mentioned, it is not trivial at all, and
hard to maintain, so I was not sure if that enters on their plans.
And in the case of xwalk team discarding this option, knowing if any of
the other options I suggested on my original mail makes sense. Or in
other words, I would like to know what would be the best option I have.
Best regards
