Subject: Re: [Dev] Udating boost
Version 1.57.0 breaks the alignment with Yocto. If version 1.56 solves
the issues I think it would be better to stick with it.
We aim at having as many package versions aligned with Yocto as
possible. A good reason is needed for a package not to be aligned with
Yocto.
Which packages was broken when you're using the latest version of boost.
Hi Chanho Park,
I didn't test the latest version of boost. We aim at aligning package
versions in Tizen and Yocto in order to be able to build the similar
Tizen images with the OBS and with Yocto. When a package in Yocto is
newer than Tizen, we try to update the version in Tizen to match the one
in Yocto. The same thing is done when a package in Tizen is newer than a
package in Yocto: it is updated to the version in Tizen. Of course it is
not always possible to do such updates for some particular packages, in
those cases we just kee things as they are.
Is there any kinds of logs? Why don't you change the yocto?
Tizen for yocto? Or Yocto for tizen?
I would prefer we sync the packages to the latest version.
I think you understand that if, instead of aligning ourselves with Yocto
versions, we use a higher version, we won't solve anything since the
work will have to be done on the Yocto side. If the guys from Yocto were
to do the same thing, then it would become impossible to synchronize
Tizen and Yocto package versions.
So, unless there is a good reason to update boost to version 1.57,
version 1.56 makes more sense since it will both cover the need for a
version >1.54 and for the alignment with Yocto.
Thanks,
Kevin
