How does it compare to systemd-logind? In short.

Completely unrelated... It is more like xdm, lightdm, gdm or kdm. Difference is that it comes without built-in GUI (can be external), specifically designed to deal with multi-seat with multiple simultaneous users. As it is not related to X in any way, it works fine with Wayland/Weston. And it supports alternative login methods, like NFC tags (with proof-of-concept implementation).

By default TLM uses pam_systemd and logind's dbus APIs, but can also work without systemd/logind. (for something like devuan.org / without-systemd.org)

When we have time, there will be some more information at
https://01.org/tlm but we haven't got time to do it yet.

As I said, we haven't put any content there yet... :)
