Github user rgoers commented on the issue: https://github.com/apache/logging-log4j2/pull/29 Jansi requires native code? That sucks. That means that Jansi can only be loaded by a single class loader and has to be in Tomcat's classpath. Given that, Jansi should default to being disabled.
