SLF4J has changed its binding mechanism in 1.8 to use the Java ServiceLoader.
It no longer requires providers to implement org.slf4j classes. To be
compatible with 1.8 the slf4j-impl module must add support for the new binding
mechanism. Note that slf4j-impl can only be converted to a Java 9 module when
the pre-1.8 bindings are removed.
