We haven't participated with GSoC at Logging yet, but each year, GSoC provides funding for students to get paid to work on an open source project full time (like an internship). Apache is one of the organizations that typically participates. I've been mentoring a couple people in a similar program (Outreachy) for the Jenkins Foundation/project, and I was thinking that we could likely try to have a GSoC project this year at the ASF. I can help mentor that, though any help would definitely be appreciated, especially if we'd like to try and find any students to work on our less active components.
With that in mind, we still have time to consider projects and ideas before we need to fill out any forms. Would there be interest in doing this?
