1. Work on making all jars in master valid JPMS modules - i.e. properly define 
the module-info.java files and make sure they all work with OSGi.
2. LOG4J2-1137 - The Jira issue to create the Appender that buffers events 
until a triggering event occurs and then logs everything in the buffer.
3. LOG4J2-2170 - Capture module info in the extended stack trace.
4. LOG4J2-2785, LOG4J2-2401 - Enhance the abbreviator.
5. LOG4J2-2653 - Upgrade to Junit 5.

Is that enough of a start?  There are 219 Improvement or New Feature issues in 
Jira to pick from besides these.
