Just to follow up, the ASF seems to be moving to a CMS system, so that should make things a bit easier to maintain going forward. It will still do a static publish, but it means that we shouldn't/won't do a Confluence based system. The wiki should be used only for wiki actions and not CMS like features.
At any rate, I still think we should have a contest to get some wireframes built. Then we will have to figure out how to get it on the CMS (when it is available.
