I went and exported the ref guide space as PDF from the Confluence 5.4.3
instance at
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence2/display/solr/Apache+Solr+Reference+Guide
(notice the "2" in the "confluence2" segment of the URL) - this is the test
instance Gavin McDonald advertised in a February 24th email to
[email protected] entitled "CWIKI Upgrade available for testing. 2 days
only."
The resulting PDF's size is 5.3MB, and it contains only 308 images.
So it looks like Atlassian fixed it. (I searched for a related bug in their
issue tracker but didn't find anything.)
And so maybe all we have to do is wait for Infrastructure to upgrade the
production Confluence instance from the current v5.0.3 to v5.4.3?
