This bug is actually quite important to my app.  I will pay whoever fixes it 
$500 USD for their efforts or, if they prefer, donate the same to the Lucene or 
Apache foundations.  Feel free to message me for more details. Offer expires 
July 2014.

And for clarification, I am referring to the bug where a nested span returns 
more results than two separate spans, identified in my comment above.
