Vince: can you please try triggering a thread dump (on any system: jps to find
pid, jstack to produce dump) of your running system when it's hung and post
that here as an attachment?
(I suspect this is the same as SOLR-4408, which i thought was fixed a while ago
but based on the recent comments in that issue may still be a problem)
