On this subject, the ticket disregards maven from the very start, but it's really unclear to me as to why. With the number of projects currently using maven to build, it's hard for me to understand what is so special about Solr builds that it wouldn't be possible to use maven efficiently. Can someone elaborate on the issues that prevents using maven easily?
