In fact the removal of branch_4x was just done "for convenience" so you don't
need to take care of too many branches and not commit to the old branch
accidentally. We (Robert and I) proposed that already more than a week ago: to
release 4.11 as 5.0 - nothing more - initially it was planned as "svn move",
but for Jenkins to be happy we decided to do a copy first and then rm (svn move
is nothing else than that).
At this time, branch 5.x is exactly the same as Lucene 4.11 up to today, so
there actually was no code change except some version hacks.
The branch copy/rename was just done to help with this. If you are not happy,
take action. I am out. Passwords for Policeman Jenkins can be requested from me.
