See my comment on the issue. We can do that, but then 5.x starts off bad, because it e.g. removes the solr war which Shawn voiced being unhappy about, etc. Instead (which i worked on all day, and am not going to rush into the branch until i've reviewed every line), we can backport everything except the controversial stuff, to make everyone happy.
