I'm seeing lots of test fails on the mailing list due to
NoHttpResponseExceptions, which this StackOverflow answer suggests is due to
stale connections:

Following the links to
http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client-ga/tutorial/html/connmgmt.html, the
section on connection evictions policy says that you should have a separate
thread that periodically closes idle or dead connections. Is this something we
should look into for HttpSolrClient?
