I'm volunteering to be the RM for the 5.0 ref guide, wanted to get my plans on the radar for folks.
The ref guide is in pretty good shape as far as some of the really "meaty" changes that are in 5.0 - there are still some new features that need documented, but there always are in every release.
Most significantly: there is a lot of really important new stuff in the guide related to the new start scripts ("no more war") and the examples that i want to make sure are available to users ASAP once the 5.0 code release hits the mirrors.
With that in mind: I'd like to plan on starting the vote for an RC0 of the 5.0 ref guide on 2015-02-12.
If you are currently working on ref guide edits intended for 5.0, please try to have them done before then. If you have ambitions for lots of different edits, please focus on edits to existing pages/content that may need updated/correct before 5.0 -- and prioritize those types of changes over "new pages" for new features that can live under the "Internal" section and stay out of hte published doc until a later version.
If there is anything you think really needs to be a blocker for releasing the guide, please either note that on the TODO page (edit or comment), or file a blocker jira (go ahead and assign to me to ensure i see it) ...
