You might want to get input from the Lucene guys about how to compare strings.
It seems easy, but it's not necessarily so.
It's a good thing to dive into the code and get a feel for where/how to change
the code.
If I may presume to offer advice though, you might save yourself a lot of work
by posting
the high-level approach you think is appropriate and soliciting comments before
polishing
the code. On more than one occasion I've changed code and had a comment come
back
"Why not do YYYYY instead" and thrown stuff away ;).
[~rcmuir] Do you know of any "prior art" or gotchas that Praveen should be
aware of?
