OK, this patch fixes up a number of test issues. There still remains some
zombie thread leaks. I tried extending the ThreadLeakLingering annotation just
for a quick test but that didn't seem to cure the zombie problem.
Apart from the zombie issue, I haven't seen test failures for about 300 tests
of CdcrReplicationDistributedZkTest, and both precommit and test succeed. I'll
be beasting the other CDCR tests over the weekend, but as they take quite some
time to run it'll be a slow process.
I'm going to commit this as it's the current state of the art and we should
base any additional changes on this code line...
