Mark,
the suggestion made over in the jetty discussion for this is that if we see
OOME in a few key places, then we could that to a Server.stop(Throwable), which
would stop the server and then throw the OOME from the Server.join() method,
which the main thread should be blocked on.
... or are you saying that it is sufficient to allow the OOME to propagate to
any thread?? The documentation for the mechanism says: "Run user-defined
commands when an OutOfMemoryError is first thrown.", which would suggest how
the exception is handled is not important? But perhaps that documentation is
wrong?
