As for SquirrelSQL the following will at minimum be needed:
* Documentation on how to use SquirrelSQL like SOLR-8521
* Test SquirrelSQL with Solr JDBC and resolve issues
** There are many NPE issues here and SquirrelSQL doesn't handle well
