Here's a patch. 

Points get a little api cleanup, we don't need to expose so much guts anymore, 
just generally an {{encodeDimension}} and {{decodeDimension}} so that anyone 
doing anything custom is able to do it.

{{PointRangeQuery}} is marked abstract and has references to the core points to 
remove any confusion.
