I agree that we need to retain our trie fields, which are based on old
numerics, as well as introduce new point values based fields. Maybe both should
be kept around for the entire 6x major version, but remove the former in 7x.
As an aside, is there something we need to keep in mind due to LUCENE-7086 for
implementing these new numeric fields?
