Using cacheImpl='SortedMapBackedCache' with either the "where" or
"cacheKey/cacheLookup" method is causing a ClassCastException

This exception is raised even if I try casting the cacheKey to char in sql.
This seems related but not identical to this bug: SOLR-5597
After trying to debug this on the IRC channel:

SOLR's Jira for the exception I am getting?

pinpoint what entity and field is having the problem
