Mike, Pushkar: Yes, this will happen in production, but will correct itself
after the 180 seconds. That's long enough to timeout the test though, and I
think it's still worth addressing. Patches are welcome :)
Dat: We won't be losing any updates, because the replica is already in
recovery; the problem is that we have two different places writing state into
zookeeper, and they're racing with each other.
