Here's an updated patch:
* {{MIN}}/{{MAX}} now replaced by {{*}}
* {{PointRangeQParserPlugin}} -> {{RangeQParserPlugin}}
* {{PointRangeField}} -> {{RangeField}}
* QParser name is now {{range}}
* more tests for bad range handling
* number of dimensions is now defined on the field type, for better error
handling
