Hi, sorry for the quick commit on SOLR-10644. I'm willing to revert that any
time.
So if I'm reading you correctly [~hossman], a safer way for this is to let
{{solr.in.sh}} still be owned by root, and print the manual instructions as
today if we cannot write, but if {{solr auth...}} is run by root/sudo, then the
{{solr.in.sh}} edit will succeed. Alternatively, we could always require root
for all auth commands? Whatever we decide should be documentedt in the refGuide
and usage.
