I should have clarified that my discussion about editable configs versus using
APIs wasn't a request for your guidance on how to do either. I just wanted to
articulate a trade-off.

Well unless others have more input with stronger opinions or I'm outnumbered, I
think data driven should be _disabled by default_. Lets give it a few more
days longer for folks to speak up on this choice.
