Hi,

It makes sense sometimes to have DocValues only: e.g. you have numeric field 
with number of items on stock or number of likes of product, that you update 
atomic only (only DocValues, not stored or indexed). This is too expensive to 
do indexed on every like or sold product.

In most cases people searching for products and you only want to filter on 
items on stock or items with likes. As there is a selective query, the missing 
indexing option does not hurt. Maybe add this as an example to docs.
