Requests in the new web interface for Solr, triggered by Javascript, seem to
timeout after 10 seconds without any error message (at least for the "Query"
panel).
The timeout is too short for complex queries when the server is under heavy
load. It would help to increase it, as well as show an appropriate error
message when it is hit.
