I have no experience with that framework.  The plugin for Kubernetes does sound 
like it would be useful, and something we can put some time into.

I do still think it would be useful to have an agent app, though.  It would 
allow the casual user (somebody who downloads Solr and runs it directly) to 
access an admin web page (probably just the Solr admin UI that already exists) 
where they can change startup options like the heap size and restart Solr.
