I'm +1 to the proposed syntax  But, a disclaimer, I don't regularly use the 
JSON syntax, and I have not reviewed the patch.

I like insisting on the "#" which will make these stand out both at declaration 
and use.  I like that it appears to be fairly compact.  Perhaps internally the 
pound may or may not be retained but it doesn't matter I suppose.
