Cassandra Targett commented on SOLR-12223:
------------------------------------------
[[email protected]], I'm taking a look at this (belatedly, sorry), and
noticed that you left this note in place:
{noformat}
CDCR Bootstrapping
Solr 6.2 added the functionality to allow CDCR to replicate the entire index
from the Source to the Target data centers on first time startup as an
alternative to the following procedure. For very large indexes, time should be
allocated for the initial synchronization if this option is chosen.
{noformat}
I wanted to remove the "Solr 6.2 added..." part of that sentence (not a
historical document, don't need to explain when stuff was added especially when
it was years ago), but realized that the rest of it mentions bootstrapping as
an alternative to the info to follow but without a link to an explanation of
what to do if you choose that alternative (IOW, the word "bootstrap" only
occurs once on this page in that place). Also, is that paragraph applicable to
both uni-directional or bi-directional? Or just uni-directional? It's placement
suggests it applies to both types.
