FYI as an intermediate step I created a jar providing FieldValueMergeOperation
and added it to our regular Solr Cloud instances using
{{<{color:#000080}expressible {color}name{color:#008000}="fieldValueMerge"
{color}class{color:#008000}="org.apache.solr.client.solrj.io.ops.FieldValueMergeOperation"
{color}/>}}
Our developers now use it within their code and it looks very good so far.
