Luckily for us the locale does not seem to cause a problem.
Unfortunately, the double space before single day digit test did not pass,
forcing me to change the asctime configuration to "**<str>EEE MMM [ ]d HH:mm:ss
[z ]yyyy</str>**",
which results in the test passing.
