Cassandra Targett resolved SOLR-12422.
--------------------------------------
Resolution: Fixed
Assignee: Cassandra Targett
Fix Version/s: 7.7
master (8.0)
I went to the [Ref Guide
page|https://lucene.apache.org/solr/guide/uploading-data-with-solr-cell-using-apache-tika.html]
to add a short warning about performance implications, but realized that the
page hadn't been really looked at or revised since the first release of the Ref
Guide in 2009. I decided to re-organize the sections quite a bit and edited a
good bit of the content with the perspective of a new user in mind.
The warning referenced in this issue is added as a new section.
I also edited the old wiki page for this
(https://wiki.apache.org/solr/ExtractingRequestHandler) to remove the now
outdated and duplicated content.

> [~elyograg] recently updated the wiki to include the hard-learned guidance
> that the ExtractingRequestHandler should not be used in production.
> [~ctargett] recommended updating the reference guide instead. Let’s update
> the ref guide.

> ...note to self...don't open issue on tiny screen...sorry for the clutter...
