Cassandra Targett resolved SOLR-12422. -------------------------------------- Resolution: Fixed Assignee: Cassandra Targett Fix Version/s: 7.7 master (8.0) I went to the [Ref Guide page|https://lucene.apache.org/solr/guide/uploading-data-with-solr-cell-using-apache-tika.html] to add a short warning about performance implications, but realized that the page hadn't been really looked at or revised since the first release of the Ref Guide in 2009. I decided to re-organize the sections quite a bit and edited a good bit of the content with the perspective of a new user in mind. The warning referenced in this issue is added as a new section. I also edited the old wiki page for this (https://wiki.apache.org/solr/ExtractingRequestHandler) to remove the now outdated and duplicated content. > Update Ref Guide to recommend against using the ExtractingRequestHandler in > production > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: SOLR-12422 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-12422 > Project: Solr > Issue Type: Improvement > Security Level: Public(Default Security Level.
