Erick Erickson created SOLR-13327:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Randomize tests to use both sync and async logging
Key: SOLR-13327
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-13327
Project: Solr
Issue Type: Improvement
Security Level: Public (Default Security Level. Issues are Public)
Components: logging
Reporter: Erick Erickson
Assignee: Erick Erickson
Going to async logging is surfacing some issues with tests at least as well as
the Prometheus exporter. I'm fixing things up as I can, but assuming that we
get all the tests in shape and anything like SOLR-13290 fixed, I want to be
confident that the fixes for async logging don't adversely affect synchronous
logging.
I don't have a clue yet _how_ to have the test framework use one or the other,
so far the difference is entirely in the configuration files. I suppose one
variant would be to have separate sync and async config files and use one or
the other, but I'd like to find a more elegant way. Any ideas welcome.
Assigning to myself to keep track of it but I wouldn't be hurt if someone
wanted to grab it ;)
