Thanks for the response, I’ve created a new issue at https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-8891. This is my first time using jira so I hope I got everything right. I’ve already implemented the new stemmer/analyzer classes for lucene and added my fork of the master branch to the issue.
