All, particularly Uwe and Steve: Let’s claim I can get the _ant_ version of the build system to work consistently under the gradle_8 branch. How difficult would it be to set up a Jenkins job to run _ant_ tests on the gradle_8 branch of master? It’s _NOT_ ready yet, that’s for sure.
I’ve got at least one case where that branch fails a test under Ant every time, why I don’t know (looking some this weekend). But once I have ant tests running as (in)consistently as they are now, I think it’d make sense to kick the tires regularly with the goal being merging the gradle stuff (whether master-only or master and 8x is TBD). As you can see, there’s nothing urgent about this, wondering for the future.
